ROOF CLEANING: OUR METHOD

*PHASE 1 ROOF CLEANING WITH HOT WATER

For the effective cleaning phase, we always work with hot water instead of just high pressure. Depending on the type of roof covering and the degree of moss, an optimal pressure is set. The water is heated to at least 70°C to 140°C. This gentle cleansing brings two important benefits. The first advantage is that no living moss organism survives at this temperature. The second advantage is that the hot water quickly loosens the moss. This offers the added benefit that your roof is protected from unnecessary high pressure. When using classic high pressure, the roof covering has a hard time because it causes scratches. Although these scratches are invisible to the naked eye, they do absolutely no good to the porosity of your roof.

*PHASE 2 PROTECTIVE LAYER

Now that the roof is completely clean, it goes without saying that we would like to keep it that way for as long as possible. That is why a durable, preventive anti-moss layer is provided immediately after cleaning. Hydrofuge is a treatment used to make surfaces water and dirt-repellent. The word comes from the Latin “hydro” (water) and “fugare” (to expel).
A hydrofuge treatment can be used on various materials such as brick, concrete, natural stone and roof tiles to protect them against water infiltration and the damaging effects of moisture.

By applying a hydrofuge agent, the surface is impregnated so that water and other liquids can no longer penetrate the material, but run off as drops.

This helps prevent damage from frost, algae, moss, salt efflorescence and other moisture-related problems. It will extend the life of the treated surface and preserve its appearance.
